Cube not only presents exhibitions of leading international and Euregional design, but also functions as a multidisciplinary laboratory where visitors can work on innovative product design together with teams of students and designers.
By means of co-creation and co-design, the teams apply the principles of design thinking and thus find solutions to problems or challenges. ‘Design for human needs and ambitions’ is the starting point. Together with the visitor, the team traverses the design process from problem to end product. The teams create new products, concepts, or services in which the ‘Cube Call’ is formulated on the basis of a question from society, the business community, civil society organizations, or specific interest groups.
The Cube design labs are divided into three labs named after the phases of the design process: ASK, IMAGINE, and CREATE. The possibilities for use, atmosphere, and design vary, in order to optimally support the design process. View previous Cube Calls and the current questions in the Casebook. Cube is constantly looking for ambitious designers and students for these teams with an interest in design thinking. If you would like to find out more, then take a look at the possibilities at the in-residence programme.
